Minion's Story Minion's existence began in 1578 as one of the gargoyles on the roof of a church. Sadly, while Minion was still under construction, the master sculptor fell from the roof and Minion was completed by the apprentice instead. This resulted in his peculiar appearance as the master began the sculpture of a duck, while the apprentice (with a short attention span) , longing for a pet finished Minion with the features of both a cat and a dog. Minion has large webbed feet, a squat body and a big head. He is carved out of sandstone, and the years spent in the elements means that he has acquired an impressive collection of lichen growth which he is very proud of. For many years Minion observed the world below him with great curiosity and overheard the sermons from the church. This, combined with his strange appearance is how he concluded that he was one of the Devil's minions, and thus discovered his name. His great regret is that he cannot remember what he did to be damned, and has decided that if he ever gets another chance he will make sure that this time he has some fun doing it. During a particularly violent storm Minion was once again fervently wishing that he could move out of the rain, when he was struck by lightning. This resulted in him being brought to life. Combined with his joy at being able to move and his inexperience of the world, Minion is an indefatigable optimist. Despite his heavy body and still trying to master his movements, he has boundless energy and assumes that he can do anything. He is eager to experience as many things as possible now that he can finally move. Having spent so many years in a fairly constant environment, Minion is often overwhelmed and distracted by the new variety of activities around him and will easily drop what he is doing to try something new. However when necessary he is capable of deep thought. Although Minion is quite prepared to cause chaos, he is cautious of drawing the attention of humans as he expects they would react badly. He has concluded this through information gained by overhearing what the church does about anything out of the ordinary. |
